WSA members Esports Wales and the Football Association of Wales (FAW) have come together to enter a national team in the FIFAe tournament this year!

Esports Wales recently announced the opening of a national Expression of Interest (EOI) process for players aiming to represent Wales in eFootball™ (2v2)(Konami’s football simulation title used in FIFAe competitions) and Rocket League in the FIFAe National tournament.

The Expression of Interest marks the first stage in the selection process for upcoming competitive programmes, with players invited to register their interest ahead of a series of scheduled tournaments running throughout spring and summer 2026.

Esports Wales will use the EOI process to identify talent across Wales. This will be one part of the selection process including Welsh Esports League results, previous experience, professional tournament results such as RLCS.

Wales have previously finished 7th in the European Championship for Rocket League and won Gold Medal in the Commonwealth Esports Championships in Birmingham.

Wales has had a strong performance in Efootball across multiple tournaments in European Esports Federation, and International Esports Federation and also winnings a Sliver and Bronze medals at the Commonwealth Esports Championships.

Players of all experience levels are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest. Completing the form does not guarantee selection but ensures players are considered for trials, communications, and future national opportunities.

John Jackson, CEO of Esports Wales, said:

“We were disappointed not to be involved last season, but we’re really looking forward to showing what Wales can do in these tournaments. This is a great opportunity to showcase some of the incredible Welsh talent we know exists across eFootball and Rocket League, and to give players a clear route to representing their country.”

Players wishing to be considered can complete the Expression of Interest form via Esports Wales here!

Further details regarding eligibility, selection criteria, and next steps will be communicated directly to registered players.
