WEDSA – Champions Unite
WEDSA: A Celebrated Success and the Dawn of Champions Unite
The Wales Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards (WEDSA) made a historic debut on December 1st, 2023, at Glamorgan Cricket Stadium. The awards celebrated the exceptional contributions of ethnic minority communities in Wales. The inaugural event was a resounding success, bringing together a diverse array of talent and setting a new standard for inclusivity in Welsh sports.
This year, we are proud to announce “WEDSA – Champions Unite,” an inspirational networking event that will bring back the previous year’s winners along with prominent sporting personalities from the sports industry. This event aims to further highlight and celebrate the achievements of these outstanding individuals and continue fostering an environment of support and recognition for ethnic minority athletes, volunteers and communities. The event will take place in the evening of September 27th at Cardiff City Stadium.
WEDSA serves as a platform that casts a luminous spotlight on ethnic minority champions allowing them to shine as inspirational figures and role models within their respective communities. Our mission aligns with Sport Wales’s vision of an active nation where everyone can enjoy lifelong participation in sports. We strive to create a vibrant society where individuals of all ages can derive lifelong pleasure from sports, ensuring that sport is accessible, inclusive, and affordable, leaving no one behind.
Join us for “WEDSA – Champions Unite” on September 27th at Cardiff City Stadium, where we will celebrate the remarkable achievements of last year’s winners and continue to inspire and connect the sporting community in Wales.
