Governance Health Checks for Sports Clubs and NGBs
Good governance provides the foundations for organisational growth and opportunity; everything that the WSA does involves helping our members become more robust and resilient organisations and, with strong governance very much at the heart of this, governance health checks for sports clubs and NGBs is vital.
The WSA, in conjunction with Partners Hugh James, have produced some fresh new resources, housed on the WSA website for free (behind the membership log-in). The new resources are simple, but effective, Governance Health checks specifically for Sports Clubs and National Governing Bodies of Sport.
WSA members, please utilise the templates and guidance provided, they are developed to help WSA members create good policies that suit the needs of their organisation, the actual process of deciding what best suits an organisation, is an important part of moving from template to actual agreed policy!
Hugh James is on hand to assist members with their existing legal and governance arrangements, so please get in touch once you have been able to review the Health Checks. The Governance Health Checks for Sports Clubs and the Governance Health Check for NGBs is located under Principle 2 under the Governance & Leadership Templates section of the WSA website.
In order to assist members further, the online Legal Structures for Sports Clubs in Wales training, produced by Hugh James, is available on the WSA website. The Legal Structures for Sports Clubs in Wales course aims to build a basic understanding and knowledge of general and individual legal structures, tax and key elements to consider when changing structures. Discounted rates are available for WSA members!
Furthermore, Hugh James will be available for a 45 minute Lunchtime Learning session on the 3rd Dec 13.00-13.45, to explore member questions on the different legal structures available to sports clubs and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
