Halo Leisure join the WSA as a Full Member

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is thrilled to welcome Halo Leisure to the membership base as a Full Member.

For over 20 years, registered charity and social enterprise Halo Leisure has helped the people of Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, and Torfaen – as well as Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Shropshire, Swindon, Stratford-upon-Avon and Worcestershire – to live a healthier and more active life by managing the leisure centres and swimming pools on behalf of the local councils and other partners.

Halo has won multiple national awards, in recognition of its work to develop leisure opportunities for local people.

Jamie Bryant, Halo Operations Director, said:

“Halo operates 32 sport and leisure centres. Given that half of these centres are in Wales, it made sense for us to join the WSA which is the independent body for the sport and leisure industry in Wales. Joining the WSA means Halo will benefit from being part of a collective voice for the sector proactively advocating and influencing key decision makers on the impact physical activity can make on local communities.”

Halo is a social enterprise and registered charity. This means that it doesn’t have shareholders, and any surplus money is put back into the services and facilities. This helps to keep costs low and offer outstanding value for money so everyone can enjoy an exciting range of activities.

Jamie went on to say:

“In 2024 Halo had a total of 2.6million visits to its centres. Everything we do is about creating healthier communities. We are excited to see how joining forces with WSA will help us to get even more local people more active more often.”
