Join us for our Safeguarding and Facilities Communities this Thursday
The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) will host simultaneous Safeguarding and Facilities Communities at the Sport Wales National Centre on Thursday 18 September 2025, to which all members are invited.
A host of key issues will be discussed across the two events, as well as in a final collaborative session which will bring together all attendees.
What will be discussed?
Among other things, Safeguarding Community attendees will hear about ongoing Safe Sport UK work, and Welsh Government consultations that are currently open and pertinent to safeguarding in sport.
The Facility Community will include a discussion with Welsh Government’s International Sports Events Manager, Jonni Tomos, around Event Wales’ work alongside national governing bodies, local authorities and venues on bidding for and attracting international sports events to Wales.
WSA partners Hugh James will also address both Communities’ attendees in our collaborative session, talking about the impact of existing policies in relation to access to changing rooms and other shared spaces in light of the Supreme Court’s decision on the definition of sex within the Equality Act 2010.
Please find detail about all speakers and the events’ agendas – and be sure to register your attendance – here (Safeguarding Community) and here (Facilities Community)!
All topics of discussion will be followed by a free networking lunch for attendees.
CPD Points
All attendees at each Community event will be awarded two CPD points.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
