Shortlisted organisations for Sustainability in Sport Fund announced
Welsh Sports Association (WSA) members have been entering applications for a share of the £100k Sustainability in Sport Fund pot, delivered by Admiral in partnership with the WSA, and we are thrilled to announce the nine shortlisted organisations.
The WSA appreciates the time and effort put in by all 39 applicants and was thoroughly impressed by the quality and innovation of those entries.
In the end, however, nine organisations have been shortlisted to be in with a chance of earning up to £25,000 amongst the share of the new £100,000 fund. Those are:
- Dragons Rugby
- Beicio Cymru
- Glamorgan County Cricket Club
- Mid Wales Sport Partnership
- MyRounders
- Clean Water Sports Alliance
- Boys and Girls Clubs of Wales
- Actif Carmarthenshire
- Byw’n Iach
The next step of the application process will see representatives from all nine organisations travel to Admiral’s headquarters in the centre of Cardiff in March, where they will pitch their projects in a Dragon’s Den-style event.
Among the judging panel, WSA Chair Lynn Pamment will be joined by Admiral’s Chief Sustainability Officer Michelle Leavesley, who launched the fund when she addressed the WSA Sustainability in Sport Conference last November.
They will be joined by Admiral’s Chief Risk Officer, Keith Davies, and Head of Property and Facilities, Huw Llewlyn.
We are keenly looking forward to hearing our members speak passionately about their projects, and how the power of sport and leisure can drive sustainable change in society.
The initiatives will be judged on a range of criteria, including their potential positive impact for Wales, influence on behavioural change, innovation and creativity, collaboration, and measurability.
We wish all shortlisted organisation the best of luck.
