Sport and leisure sector support Christmas Present Appeal once again
The Welsh Sports Association was once again thrilled to collaborate with colleagues across the sport and leisure sector to support the Christmas Present Appeal in getting gifts to to children living in poverty during the festive period.
2025 proved another brilliant year, as our sector contributed 42 gift bags to a total of over 400 which went on to support families and children less fortunate.
Since the appeal began in 2019, over 1600 children have received gifts as a result of collective generosity, including within the sprot and leisure sector.
The local schools supported have been overwhelmed with your generosity over the years and the positive impact this has had on local communities. Christmas is a lovely time of year, but along with this comes immense pressure for mothers, fathers, and guardians living in poverty who are already having to decide whether to put the heating on or put food on the table.
The WSA would like to thank colleagues for once again demonstrating the power for good within sport and leisure, as well as the volunteers of the Christmas Present Appeal who undertook yet more vital work over the festive period.
