Street Football Wales become WSA Members

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) are delighted to announce the arrival of Street Football Wales to our membership base!

Street Football Wales (SFW) strive to use the sport to encourage positive social change in Wales. They offer opportunities for people who have been socially isolated and excluded by providing an open, inclusive and safe environment to play football, make friends, build self-confidence, and support them on their own personal journeys.

In doing so, participants can be a part of something positive, communal and fun, as SFW provide a constant in people’s lives and an escape from sometimes chaotic and difficult circumstances.

Their approach to this work is also asset based, building on resilience, independence and capacity across the community; it is therefore a sustainable service that has high impact and low costs.

Operations Manager at Street Football Wales, Scott Jeynes, commented:

“We are all excited at Street Football Wales to be working with such a positive organisation in the WSA. We have huge aims in 2023 to continue to change lives through football and look forward to collaborating with the WSA with our aims going forward.”

As Full Members, SFW look forward to collaborating with the sport and leisure sector within our membership network. They will also look to take advantage of services such as grants and funding advice and the DBS checking service within the WSA offer, as well as utilise our partner agreements and benefits for the likes of insurance.
