Commercial Director – Squash Wales
The Board has dealings with commercial partners in relation to sponsorship, income sources and grant funding. The Commercial Director will provide oversight of these activities and where necessary advise, guide or support t employed staff in such matters.
The Commercial Director is expected to self-initiate contacts and sources of funding that match the ethos and outlook of Squash Wales, as identified in the Squash Wales strategy.
Reporting to the Chair through the Board, the Commercial Director will have with regular contact with the Head of Performance and Participation and the Finance Director (NED).
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and oversee a commercial action plan, reporting regularly to the Board on progress and outcomes.
· Identify, secure and support the management of commercial sponsorship and partnership agreements.
· Work with staff to strengthen financial sustainability by increasing income from non-grant sources and/or securing value-in-kind partnerships to offset costs.
· Chair the Commercial sub-group of the board
Skills Knowledge and Experience
· Experience in the private sector, working with partners to generate commercial income.
· Strong knowledge of business networks within Wales.
· A proven track record of delivering strategic marketing and income-generation objectives.
· Understanding of sports sponsorship models and partnership development within the sports sector.
