WSA and CLUK team up with 2buy2 to provide a procurement service for the sport & leisure sector

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) and Community Leisure UK (CLUK) are delighted to announce a collaboration with procurement specialists 2buy2.

The WSA & CLUK have been privy to the various financial challenges facing the sector since the onset of Covid-19, and more recently in relation to the increase in energy & utility costs. Together they (WSA & CLUK) have been keen to highlight the importance of collaboration, economies of scale and to offer the sector practical solutions to deal with these mounting challenges.

2buy2 is a Cardiff-based procurement specialist, and partner of WSA, offering advice and education regarding strategic procurement to provide savings and supplier protection, and has agreed to work with the members of the WSA and CLUK to deliver a procurement offering tailored to the needs of the sector.

Work began on a joint procurement offering back in February 2021 – the initial pilot project was to prove the case for collective procurement. The results from the five member organisations that participated were compelling and lead to the collaboration with 2buy2 on delivering a comprehensive procurement service, which aims to deliver best value outcomes for the sector.

Through the new agreement, the joint membership base will have access to a range of specific procurement services such as:

  • Free access to a Contracts Register tool, which will keep users updated regarding the status of their various contracts.
  • A free procurement health check.

In addition, 2buy2 are working with WSA & CLUK to deliver an online procurement portal for the sport and leisure sector. This will grant members access to approved suppliers lists, framework agreements, quotes and pricing from pre-accredited suppliers, and a series of best practice procurement guides, templates, and procedures all free of charge!

This portal is set to be ready for use at the end of summer, but there are already product categories available such as water, gas and electricity, oil, office supplies (including MFDs like photocopiers and printers), and EV charging.

WSA Commercial Manager Tom Sharp added:
