WSA welcomes Dragons RFC as Associate Members
The Welsh Sports Association are thrilled to announce that Dragons RFC have joined the WSA as Associate Members.
Following the regionalisation of professional rugby in Wales, Newport-based Dragons RFC were founded in 2003. They are one of the four professional rugby union outfits set up by the WRU in Wales, embracing clubs within Monmouthshire, Caerphilly, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent and Newport, where they host their home matches at Rodney Parade.
The Dragons have enjoyed an interesting existence up to this point, with notable scalps and campaigns in the Heineken Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup providing particular highlights. The Dragons are currently competing in the BKT United Rugby Championship and EPCR Challenge Cup.
As Associate Members, Dragons RFC will look to take advantage of the opportunity to work collaboratively with the sport and leisure sector, and will aim to utilise the services provided by WSA partners such as the livestreaming solutions of Joymo.
Dragons RFC Managing Director, Mark Jones, said: “We are pleased to have been accepted as members of the WSA as we embark on another big season here at Rodney Parade.
“We strongly believe being members of the WSA – the collective voice for our sector – will help us become stronger, more successful, and sustainable as a business, and we look forward to giving our full support to the WSA and its vision for ‘A Vibrant, Active, Nation’.”
