The Outdoor Partnership WSA Membership Testimonial

The Outdoor Partnership WSA Membership Testimonial

The Outdoor Partnership have spoken to the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) about their membership, and how it has benefitted their organisation.

Programme Manager at TOP, Mark Jones, has mostly used the WSA for support regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic, and stated:

The majority of the links I’ve had with the WSA has been through the meetings with other members to find out updates throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Actually seeing how governing bodies and other people are dealing with similar issues has been of huge help. The network, the hearing from other organisations, and the feeding and dissemination of information possibly just before the Minister’s announcements and having a clearer update to know what that announcement actually means for various sports on the ground – that’s been a massive support.

My main contact with the WSA has been through Policy and Communications Manager Matt Williams, who has been the one to deliver and lead on those sessions. Whenever I’ve been in touch with the WSA, asking for advice or querying something, the response has always been great and been quick!

Mark continued to reveal the summarising benefit he’s felt from membership:

I would definitely recommend membership. The appeal of the WSA is the reach across the sector that they have, which facilitates the networking with either similar organisations, or organisations that we’re likely to be working with.

Meanwhile, The Outdoor Partnership CEO, Tracey Evans, added:

There is also a wealth of resources and training that we have been able to access as members of WSA.

Being a member of the WSA allows organisations like ourselves, who are not NGBs, to be recognised for our impact on getting more people more active and leading life-long active lifestyles.

It allows our charity to network with other like-minded organisations and be able to build new partners and networks.
