WSA welcomes two new Board members!
The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is delighted to announce the election of two new Board directors.
Andrea Ovey and Richard Lancaster were elected by the WSA membership base during the General Meeting that took place on Thursday 2nd March.
Nominated for the role by Newport Live, Andrea joins the WSA Board while in her role as Director of Business Development at the WSA member organisation. She has held this post since February 2020, having previously worked as Newport Live’s Commercial Director for nearly four years.
Prior to her near-seven years of experience there, Andrea worked in a number of Sales-related roles, including as Head of Display Advertising at Newsquest for nearly 15 years.
Andrea brings her knowledge, both commercial and strategic to the board, keen to further support collaborative approaches across, sport, leisure, and health.
Richard was nominated to join the WSA Board by member organisation Ospreys in the Community. He arrives with us while in his role as a Senior Manager at Swansea University working to initiate a sports technology hub in South Wales. He boasts nearly two decades of experience at the University with previous roles including Athletic Union General Manager, Head of Sport and Corporate Engagement and Head of Development and Engagement among others.
Richard has also previously been Director of Rugby at Swansea RFC and Head of Business Development and Marketing at Sport & Wellbeing Analytics among other experiences within the sport and leisure sector.
