The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) has seen considerable growth in recent years – both in terms of membership numbers and in the variety of services that we are able to provide for our members.
As we look to continue our upward trend of diversifying our income and providing the best value for our members, we are seeking to recruit two board directors at our forthcoming Annual General Meeting in July.
The successful candidates will understand how sport contributes to the well-being of people in Wales through education, health and community policies. An awareness of the current political and policy landscape in Wales would also be advantageous.
Previous board experience is desirable but not essential, as we believe candidates who have not previously served on a board role should still be able to demonstrate the skills and competencies necessary to contribute to the WSA’s strategic growth.
Following a comprehensive board skills audit, the organisation is seeking individuals with specific skills and knowledge in one or more of the following fields:
• Business Development/ Commercial Partnerships
• Human Resources
• Marketing
• Governance
• Health Sector
To be eligible for election you must be nominated by a Full Member of the WSA. We are committed to equality of opportunity and the formation of a balanced, inclusive and skilled board. We particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities, individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic communities, women and young people.
Please see the WSA Board Director Specification 2019 and Nomination form 2019  for further details, and if you would like to discuss the role further please contact Helen Humphrey, Chair of the Board of Directors via [email protected]
Completed nomination forms must be submitted to [email protected] by midday on 10th June 2019.
Voting will take place at the WSA’s AGM on 1st July at the Cardiff City Stadium.
