DBS Digital Identity Checks in Welsh

DBS Digital Identity Checks in Welsh

In the imminent future, the safeguarding process will experience a potentially pioneering progression with the emergence of DBS digital identity checks. The Welsh Sports Association (WSA), via our trading arm Vibrant Nation, will be extending its uniquely bilingual DBS service for sport and leisure in order to cater for this new solution, offering the digital identity checks in Welsh.

The WSA is the only provider of a fully bilingual system and service in Wales, and even offer a bilingual helpline as part of our commitment to ensuring sport and physical activity is safe for everyone to enjoy.

Our system is entirely web-based and can be accessed from any location, any time. With a growing client base of over 200 organisations, we can also provide lower costs through economies of scale, while discounted rates are also a benefit of WSA membership.

Tested and approved by the Ministry of Justice and The Home Office, it has also been endorsed by both Welsh Government and the NSPCC, so rest assured that our service is up-to-date and of the highest quality.

And with the arrival of digital identity checks, our service is set for an extension very soon.

Once the solution is available to go live, people will be able to access bilingual digital identity checks as part of our DBS service immediately! Find out more about all the safeguarding and DBS support services that the WSA offers, here.

This new solution in the DBS checking process is a big project for all those involved and, as a result, this is yet to be a certain launch date – but expect it to be soon.

While its effectuation date is still uncertain, though, we know that this mammoth implementation will quickly become common practice and significantly improve processes, completion times, and ultimately enhance safeguarding.

This is not to say that it’s the digital way or the highway, however! For those wanting to continue with face-to-face ID checking, this will also remain an option to you; there is no mandatory requirement to switch to digital ID checking.
