Welsh Airgun Championships 2022

The Welsh Airgun Championships will take place from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th November in the National Sport Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

There are some changes to the format this year.

The additional length of time required to run the new finals means that we cannot fit 8 finals into a day. We are going to trial Mixed Team events.

Friday:

Senior athletes will compete in the AirOShoot Welsh Qualification match and the top 8 in each competition will qualify for an individual final.

Junior athletes will compete in the Cardiff Grand Prix. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 athletes based on their 60 shot match. There is no individual final.

Concurrently, the first 30 shots will count towards the qualification stage of the Mixed Team event. The top 2 mixed teams will qualify for the Gold medal final and the 3rd and 4th placed mixed teams will qualify for the Bronze medal final.

Sunday:

All athletes will compete in the Welsh Open Championships. Top 8 athletes regardless whether they are senior or junior will qualify for an individual final.

Mixed Teams:

The Mixed Teams will be determined by random draw. If there is an unequal number of male and female athletes some athletes may not be drawn and thus not placed in a team. Those athletes will become reserves to back fill athletes that withdraw prior to the start of the detail.

Entries opened on August 17th
