Welsh National Tennis Championships
Tennis Wales confirmed the tournament will be held at both Penarth Windsor Lawn Tennis Club and Penarth Lawn Tennis Club between August 20-28.
The tournament, which has been running for over 40 years, was initially set to be held in Penarth in 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic put those plans on hold.
This year, a visually impaired event will be introduced to the tournament for the first time as well as a wheelchair event.
The itinerary for this year’s championships includes singles and doubles events for Juniors aged eight to 18 years old; mixed doubles for Juniors and Adults; and Senior singles and doubles events for 65 years and over.
Players will have a six-week window to sign up for the tournament via the Tennis Wales website and the organisation predicts nearly 400 people will enter. (Courtesy of Penarth Nub News.)

- Singles and doubles events for adults, and seniors age categories 35-plus, 45-plus, 55-plus and 65-plus.
- Wheelchair and visually impaired events
