Second round of Allianz Sports Fund for 2023 now open

The second round of the Allianz Sports Fund for 2023 is now open!

The first round saw £50,000 distributed to sports clubs around the UK in grants worth £500, £1,000, £2,000 or £3,000.

With another £50,000 up for grabs, clubs wishing to apply for the Allianz Sports Fund must be nominated by an Allianz broker partner, of which Welsh Sports Association (WSA) partner Watkin Davies is one.

The WSA was delighted to be able to collaborate with Watkin Davies for the first round of funding, as a total of eight successful clubs were nominated by the Cardiff-based firm, 21% of all clubs that received a grant!

This time around, Allianz want to help clubs continue to inspire a new generation of athletes and keep clubs playing through the cost-of-living crisis, andclubs must get their applications in before the deadline of the 20th of October.

Awards are to help sports clubs continue to provide opportunities within their local community and, to be eligible, sports clubs must take part in an Olympic or Paralympic sport, including Winter Sports.

The awards of grants are set to be announced on the 20th of November.

Watkin Davies Development Executive – Sports & Leisure, Chris Weeks, commented:

“We hope the final round for 2023 proves even more popular with WSA members! Earlier this year Watkin Davies were proud to nominate 21% of all UK winners.

“Watkin Davies can be noted on the Allianz application as the nominated partner Broker for all eligible WSA members, groups, and clubs.”
