The activities of the Sport Wales board were this week temporarily suspended. The Chair and Vice Chair of Sport Wales both agreed to the decision made by Rebecca Evans AM, Minister for Social Services and Public Health.
While a “rapid review” by the Welsh Government is already underway, the board’s activities are likely to be suspended until at least the end of the year.
The WSA has been reassured that the move will not affect day-to-day operations at Sport Wales. While there are many questions being asked, the WSA will continue to liaise closely with Sport Wales to best serve the sport and recreation sector through an unsettling time.
