The Allianz Sports Fund returns for 2022

The Allianz Sports Fund is back for 2022!

Following a successful first year, in which two rounds of funding saw £100,000 split into 75 separate grants to help support sports clubs across the UK, the third round of the Allianz Sport Fund is now open, with a fourth set to take place later in 2022.

This time around, Allianz will be awarding grants to clubs looking to run initiatives that are centred around inclusivity and diversity.

£50,000 has been made available to sport clubs for this round and will be granted in awards ranging from between £500 and £3,000.

It is important to remember that Allianz will only accept applications from sports clubs that have been nominated by one of their broker partners – of which WSA partners Watkin Davies are one!

Once put forward by an Allianz broker partner, sports clubs can expect to be the subject of deliberation among a panel of Allianz senior leaders, employees, Team GB and Paralympics GB representatives, who will allocate grants accordingly.

The grants really have the power to make a meaningful impact upon your club, so don’t hesitate in getting involved!

In 2021, Stockport School of Gymnastics received a grant from the fund, and told Allianz:

“This is fantastic news and will make such a difference to our club and members. Thank you so much for awarding this grant to us, it will enable us to purchase much needed equipment and aid our recovery from COVID-19.”

Meanwhile, Westbury RFC said:

“Thank you so much for picking us. It means a lot to the club. We are working hard to make sure we represent our community better and so it is fantastic that you have noticed our steps in the right direction.”

This year, it could be you!

The deadline for applications is the 29th of April, with the awards of grant awards set to be announced on the 7th of June.

The second round of funding will be launch on the 5th of September later this year.
