Commonwealth Games Wales (CGW) is the organisation responsible for leading Commonwealth Sporting activity across all of Wales, with our key members being the Welsh National Governing Bodies of Sport.
CGW, in partnership with Sport Wales, assists the individual sports with their preparation for both the Commonwealth Youth Games and the Commonwealth Games. CGW selects the Wales team that will deliver Wales’s strongest performance and leads the team at the Games in a manner that will inspire and motivate the athletes to deliver their very best performance. Wales and CGW have enjoyed unprecedented success in recent Games. CGW wants to ensure the continuation of this trend and deliver an outstanding, inspiring and life changing experience for our athletes in Glasgow 2026.
Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
The 2026 Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow, Scotland between July 23 – August 2, with 10 sports held across four venues in the city. The ten sports are Athletics, Swimming, Track Cycling, Bowls, Weightlifting, Boxing, Judo, 3 x 3 Basketball, Netball and Artistic Gymnastics. Para-sport include Para-Athletics, Para-Swimming, Para-Track Cycling, Para-Bowls, Para-Powerlifting and 3 X 3 Wheelchair Basketball.
Vacancies
Commonwealth Games Wales are actively recruiting several key roles to manage and support the team in the run up and during the games to help create an inspirational and inclusive environment to enable the athletes to perform at their best and thrive in a world-class sporting event.
The skills and experience required varies whether it be operations and logistics, team doctor or physiotherapist, managing media requests at venues, collating and editing content for social media, hosting guests at the Team Wales House or providing support to athletes in the villages. The roles also provide senior and junior opportunities. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the Team Wales legacy as we count down to the 23rd Commonwealth Games.

Commitment and requirements
Commitment in the lead up and during the games will vary depending on the role, but all positions will require you to:
- Attend 1 pre-games workshop in person
- Be DBS checked
- Be available for the duration of the games (July 20 – August 2 2026)
- Attend a safeguarding course (level depending on role)
- Attend an Anti-Doping course (depending on role)
- Be willing to work flexible and long hours when required during the games
- Be able to work under pressure in the lead up and during the games
- Be a team player who can also work independently when required
- Follow the Team Wales code of conduct
All roles are voluntary, but all travel, accommodation, meals and kit will be provided, (including approved expenses).
