Wales Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards (WEDSA) nominations close soon
Nominations for the Wales Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards (WEDSA) close soon. The event stands as a pioneering initiative in Wales, singularly focused on showcasing the accomplishments of ethnic minority athletes.
It serves as a platform that casts a luminous spotlight on these athletes, allowing them to radiate as inspirational figures and role models within their respective communities.
WEDSA’s aim is to contribute to a vision of an active nation where everyone can have a lifelong enjoyment of sport and create a vibrant society where individuals of all ages can derive lifelong pleasure from sports. It is vital that sport is accessible, inclusive and affordable, and leaves no one behind.
There are award categories to nominate for. They are as follows:
- Volunteer of the Year
- Personality of the Year
- Sportswoman of the Year
- Sportsman of the Year
- Inspiring Individual of the Year
- Young Person of the Year
- Club of the Year
- Outstanding Contribution to Sport
- Community Sports Project
- Coach of the Year
- Inclusive Sport Award
- Lifetime Achievement Award
Each award will celebrate work and achievements to have happened in the past 18 months for people who are based in or work in Wales.
