Welsh Boxing National Championship Finals 2021
The Sport Wales National Centre played host to some great boxing action over the past weekend, with the Welsh Boxing National Championships reaching their conclusions in the capital.
WSA members, Welsh Boxing, have over 120 affiliated clubs and 4,500 members of all genders, ethnicities, and ages eligible to compete, their National Championships represent the pinnacle for amateur boxing in Wales.
The first day of competition featured the 2021 Welsh Championship Elite Finals with 12 bouts featuring the best senior male and female amateur boxers in the country at weights ranging from 54kg up to 92kg+.
On day two, it was the turn of the youths and juniors with 18 bouts as the best young talent from clubs across Wales went head-to-head for National Championship honours.
Leading sports broadcast platform and the WSA’s Livestreaming partner, Joymo, streamed the finals live from Sophia Gardens on both days, in a first for the competition.
The move enabled boxing fans across Wales and beyond to tune in and watch two days of high calibre level competition live or on-demand over the internet and on a variety of connected devices.
The livestream also allowed one of the WSA’s Kickstart employees, Daniel, to work with Joymo to produce some live commentary along with Blake, a Masters student from Cardiff Met.
