The second and final term of Fergus Feeney as a Board Member, in accordance with Article 20.8 of the WSA Articles of Association, will conclude on 3rd July 2025. We are sincerely grateful for Fergus’s outstanding service and valuable contributions throughout this period, particularly during the challenges of the pandemic and the sector’s safe return to sport and leisure.
This circular letter to members outlines the procedure and timeline for the appointment of a replacement, who will be a sector representative elected from the National Governing Bodies, in recognition of their status as principal founder members (WSA Article of Association. 20.3.2).
Nominations for election must be submitted by a Full Member using the attached nomination form, accompanied by the nominee’s written consent. To confirm, the nominee must represent a National Governing Body.
Member organisations should also note Article 20.13.1, which states; “No more than one sector representative Director can hold any office, position or appointment within the same Full Member organisation.”
A General Meeting will take place at 1pm on Thursday 12th June 2025 at the Sport Wales National Centre, Cardiff to elect the new sector representative to the Board. Proxy votes will be available for those unable to attend in person, and these will be distributed on Thursday 29th May with the official notice of the meeting. Voting on the day will be via secret ballot and cast by a Nominated Representative present for those member organisations in attendance.
