WSA host successful risk workshop
The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) would like to thank all those involved in making our recent risk training workshop, ‘Risk as a Facet of Strategy and Control’, such a success.
Our thanks must go to the staff at the Cardiff City Stadium for accommodating the event, those who were in attendance, and of course Mark Wearden for leading a fascinating seminar packed with vitally important information on Risk as a facet of strategy and control.
During the day, Mark refined what risk truly means and how it can factor into strategy with proper intelligence and focus, as attendees discussed their own organisation’s experiences with risk.
There was also a focus on how we can measure risk, what perspectives we can take and who is ultimately responsible for making key decisions, before members talked about how it’s possible to mitigate it.
The discussion also revolved around logic in tangible risk, financial literacy, business continuity planning and the narrative surrounding risk before debating when and how we can challenge it, taking into consideration the dimensions of risk alignment.
Thank you to the members who attended and engaged with the workshop, inputting their outlooks on the issue in order to create a stimulating environment for a crucial topic in business.
We are extremely grateful to Mark for travelling to Cardiff to lead the captivating seminar!
We hope WSA members enjoyed their time and as much as we did and picked up some pivotal advice!
