WSA members Welsh Triathlon welcome new CEO Catherine Roberts
The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) would like to welcome the new Chief Executive Officer of member organisation Welsh Triathlon, Catherine Roberts!
Swansea-based, Roberts brings a wealth of leadership experience and passion for sports to the organisation.
She has demonstrated her commitment to physical fitness and community engagement as a regular park runner, and was first introduced to triathlon as a supporter and occasional volunteer. She embraced the challenge and joined the Triathlon section of Bynea Cycling Club, completing her first triathlon at the age of 52.
Since then, Roberts has conquered four long-distance and six middle-distance triathlons.
With an extensive career primarily in the National Health Service, Roberts has honed her management and leadership skills through an impressive range of experiences and opportunities. Now, she eagerly looks forward to transferring her expertise to the sports sector as she assumes the role of CEO at Welsh Triathlon.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Roberts commented:
“I am delighted to be taking up post as Chief Executive Officer for Welsh Triathlon and look forward to working with the board, staff, members, clubs, volunteers and partner organisations. I know it is a great privilege and honour to be offered this post, in a growing sport, in my home nation. The challenge will be to further develop a triathlon and multi-sport community, that will enhance the wellbeing of current and future generations in Wales.
“I look forward to doing a good job for you all and sharing your stories and experiences about the impact of triathlon and multisport on your lives.”
Welsh Triathlon Chair Martin Kitchener added:
“We are delighted to welcome Catherine as our new Chief Executive Officer. Her extensive experience in leadership makes her the ideal candidate to lead our company into the future. On behalf of the entire board and the community, I extend our warmest welcome to Catherine, and we eagerly anticipate the positive impact she will bring to our organisation. We are confident that under her guidance, we will continue to thrive and achieve new heights.”
