WSA Membership Plus Benefits, as told by Wales Netball

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is delighted by the uptake and response to Membership Plus, with several members utilising the benefits of the new initiative conceived following consultation with our membership base and designed to provide cost-effective solutions to optimise organisational efficiency and capacity.

The first two packages in this new offer, Finance Plus and Advocacy Plus, launched in April.

Advocacy Plus offers a bespoke selection of specific guidance and support services in relation to Welsh Government & the Senedd; among which includes strategic advice and introduction to officials, twice-yearly Advocacy Board Development meetings, and monthly Advocacy reports to relate closely to your specific organisation’s strategic objectives.

Meanwhile, Finance Plus provides confidential, professional hands-on bookkeeping service and support, fronted by WSA Business Support Officer Ehtasham Janjua, designed for small to medium-sized member organisations looking for support with financial compliance.

Within the offer includes annual reviews of finance compliance against the Sport Wales capability framework and the preparation of monthly management accounts, inclusive of a financial summary report for board meetings.

Wales Netball reaction to WSA Membership Plus

We are thrilled to announce a successful beginning to their roll-out! WSA members Wales Netball have been using Finance Plus for a few months and their CEO, Vicki Sutton, told the WSA:

“We have used Finance Plus for the last few months as a solution to a gap in staffing provision. The service has been invaluable; from the initial fact-finding through to the weekly check-ins and the regular emails, I have always felt fully confident that all our needs were being met.

“Ehtasham is incredibly skilled at what he does, and we were so grateful to be able to have those skills as part of our team. I am also grateful to Tom Sharp and the wider WSA team for being flexible enough to cater to our specific needs.

“I would recommend this add-on to anyone – it’s incredible value for money!”

The WSA would like to give a massive thanks to all the organisations that have signed up for the respective Membership Plus packages. The team are excited that some, like Wales Netball, have commenced utilising the services while kick-off discussions have been scheduled for the latest sign-ups!

It’s incredibly exciting that the service is very nearly at capacity for both packages but, for those of you who feel you might have missed out on Membership Plus, don’t worry! The WSA will be offering the same opportunities later on in the year, so watch this space if our new initiative has sparked your interest!

In addition to these new Membership Plus packages, the WSA has also updated its core membership offer to include some exciting new partner agreements, updates to the helpline service and advancements to templates.
