WSA supports DSW at GOGA Senedd Event
Welsh Sports Association (WSA) CEO Andrew Howard was delighted to support member organisation Disability Sport Wales (DSW) at their Get Out Get Active (GOGA) event in the Senedd on Tuesday evening.
At the event, DSW and Partners celebrated the learning and achievements of the Get Out Get Active (GOGA) programmes in Wales.
This special event highlighted the incredible stories of inclusion and activity that have been at the heart of GOGA. DSW’s Nia Jones used the platform as an opportunity for a call to action in Wales, highlighting how collaborative learning should shape future inclusive provision.
Guests heard from WSA members Sport Pembrokeshire and Street Games, who were represented by Katie Bowie-Hallam and Gareth Winmill respectively, and they were joined on stage by Pride Cymru’s Emma Jones.
Following the event, Howard said;
“I was delighted to hear about the wonderful impact the GOGA 1 and 2 programmes have made within our communities in Wales. I first became aware of GOGA when it was shortlisted at the inaugural WSA Sports Industry Awards, but hearing directly from the Partners really brought the projects and the positive impact to life.
“At the WSA, we absolutely support Nia’s call to action on how this programme should shape future inclusive provision and we call upon the Health and Social care sectors to work with our sector to ensure the provision can be delivered sustainably.”
