WSA thrilled to support members Welsh Boxing at National Championships Elite Finals through Content & Comms Plus

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) were thrilled to attend and support member organisation Welsh Boxing’s National Championships Elite Finals on Friday 28th April.

As members, Welsh Boxing are taking advantage of our Membership Plus offering Content & Comms Plus, through which they receive WSA help with social media and content output as well as WSA support at one key event.

Taking in the awe-inspiring action of 16 bouts determining Welsh Champions, the WSA’s Public Affairs and Communications Officer Max Parsons interviewed each Champion, including Commonwealth Games representatives Owain Harris Allan and Zoe Andrews, upon their victories for Welsh Boxing’s Facebook and Instagram channels.

Commonwealth Games Team Wales representative Owain Harris Allan is interviewed by Max Parsons as part of the WSA’s Content & Comms Plus delivery for Welsh Boxing

Speaking to the WSA, Welsh Boxing’s Performance Coordinator Amy Garrett explained how Max is “always willing to face any challenge.”

“We did throw Max in amongst it, but he coped admirably well,” commented Amy. “We had one typo error, but that was quickly resolved!

“The winners were interviewed, which was a great experience for them and a chance to share their boxing success. The content was uploaded with minor technical issues, but in the end well liked.

“Overall,” she continued, “the support was greatly appreciated as Max carried out the duties as directed.

“The location of the interviews was not ideal – through no fault of Max, as the background noise was a little overpowering – but this was the first time this level of coverage had been tried due to lack of personnel, so it was great to be able to have this as an option!”

Welsh Boxing have been using the WSA’s Content & Comms Plus package since December 2022.

“We’d definitely recommend the package,” added Welsh Boxing CEO Colin Metson.

It has given much needed support to a stretched small team; it is excellent value for money.

The team have many functions and communication were not being covered as well as they could have been.

“It showed when we were uploading content during the Commonwealth Games that the appetite was there, and we knew of a deep seam of stories in the community,” he continued. “The issue was not what to say but how to get the story to the wider audience. Max’s support has enabled us to achieve this with regular and timely output!”

Don’t hesitate in getting in contact with the WSA team to find out more, and to discover how our flexible Content & Comms Plus package can support your team’s content and communications delivery!
