WSA recruiting new Board Director

At the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) Board meeting on 13th December, it was confirmed that Director Angharad Collins has stepped down from the WSA Board.

Angharad was elected by the Membership whilst in her previous role as CEO of Torfaen Leisure Trust. It is due to her new commitments in a Wales-wide role with fellow-WSA Member, the Welsh Rugby Union, that she has decided to step down.

In writing to the Chair of the WSA Board, Lynn Pamment, Angharad Collins said:

“I would like to thank you for my two years on the Board which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

“It has been a pleasure to play a very small part in the success of the WSA and I wish Andrew (Howard), yourself and the team every success for the future.”

In response, Chair of the WSA Board, Lynn Pamment, said:

“The Board of the WSA would like to thank Angharad for her immense contribution as a director.

“We are sorry to see her leave the Board and wish her all the very best in her role at the Welsh Rugby Union.”

The WSA will today (Wednesday 14 December) start the election process for Angharad’s replacement, looking to elect a new Director by election in the new year.

More details on the process and the vacancy can be found on the WSA website here. Please note that this is a nominated position from within the WSA Full Membership – forms must be submitted to [email protected], while the nomination form can be accessed here.
