First round of Allianz Sports Fund 2024 now open
The first round of the Allianz Sports Fund is now open for 2024.
The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is once again delighted to be able to collaborate with partner Watkin Davies – an Allianz broker partner – to promote investment into the sport and leisure sector to support a range of community clubs across Wales.
There were a number of success stories from 2023, with the Allianz Sports Fund supporting several club across Wales in sports including Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Hockey and Basketball.
So far, the Fund has awarded grants totalling £300,000, helping 180 clubs across the UK to deliver sports programmes in their communities.
With the first round of funding for 2024 now open, the WSA urges clubs to apply for the Allianz Sports Fund through our partner and Allianz broker partner Watkin Davies.
The criteria for applicants are any sports club that:
- has been nominated by a broker partner of Allianz
- takes part in an Olympic or Paralympic sport
- is registered with their sports National Governing Body
- has an official bank account registered in the club’s name
£40,000 has been made available for the first round of the Allianz Sports Fund this year, with grants ranging between £500 and £3,000.
Clubs can use the following information when filling out the application form:
- Broker Company Name – Watkin Davies Insurance Consultants
- Association – Insurance Broker
- Local Allianz Branch – Cardiff
In addition, Allianz are celebrating the Olympic and Paralympic year by also offering clubs the chance to win an Allianz Sports FunDay in June 2024. The winning club will simply have to invite guests, with Allianz taking care of music, decorations, and maybe a familiar face from TeamGB / ParalympicsGB to run some sporting sessions!
Applications must be submitted before the deadline of Friday 8 March, with all applicants finding out the status of their applications on Friday 5 April.
