Allianz Sports Fund soon reopening for 2023!

The Allianz Sports Fund will reopen for 2023 on January the 30th, launching for a fifth round.

Over the previous two years, four rounds of the fund have seen £200,000 distributed among sports clubs across the UK in grants worth £500, £1,000, £2,000 and £3,000.

With applications opening on January 30th, the first round of 2023 will see another £50,000 being given to community sport clubs that need it most.

This time around, the Allianz Sports Fund will aim to “focus on clubs looking to support their members and inspire them to keep playing throughout 2023.”

“With the cost of living becoming increasingly difficult, we want to help those who may be forced into giving up participating at their current sports clubs. We hope to help people ‘keep playing’,” Allianz states.

It is important to remember that Allianz will only accept applications from sports clubs that have been nominated by one of their broker partners – of which Welsh Sports Association (WSA) partners Watkin Davies are one!

Once put forward by an Allianz broker partner, sports clubs can expect to be the subject of deliberation among a panel of Allianz senior leaders, employees, Team GB and Paralympics GB representatives, who will allocate grants accordingly. Successful applicants will then be notified on March 25th!

Please note that the deadline for applications is the 24th of February!

The grants really have the power to make a meaningful impact upon your club, so don’t hesitate in getting involved!

Beacon Hill, a sports club in England, were successful in their application last year:

“We will use the incredible donation of £2000 to buy four specialist frames of different sizes so children can come and try frame football without having to incur the expense of a frame themselves. This incredible donation which will have a real impact enabling children with Cerebral Palsy to enjoy football.”

There’s no reason why that can’t be you!

The application window opens on January 30th, with the deadline set at February 24th – so make sure you get them in!
