Aura Wales WSA Membership Testimonial
Aura Wales have been Full Members with the Welsh Sports Association since the beginning of 2021 and their Managing Director, Mike Welch, has revealed how WSA membership has supported the organisation.
Mike started by revealing what originally appealed to his organisation:
What originally attracted us to becoming WSA members were the challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The connection between the WSA, Welsh Government and the WLGA is strong, and it’s been valuable to be on the COVID-19 update webinars which have provided the sport and leisure industry with Welsh specific advice and insight.
Aura have also benefitted from their membership in other ways:
The WSA has aided us in a variety of ways from influencing Welsh Government policies to creating links with Public Health Wales and the health sector in general.
We also used Acorn midway through 2021 when looking to recruit a new Chair. It worked well for us as we developed a good relationship, found them to be very supportive and successfully filled the position.
Mike concluded by saying whether he’d recommend the WSA:
I’ve mostly spoken to CEO Victoria Ward and Policy and Communications Manager Matt Williams during our membership, and found their expertise and advice to be excellent. They’ve been consistently professional and always knowledgeable when dealing with queries.
I would definitely recommend the WSA to any sporting organisations; they provide a sense of community and a collective voice for the sector
