Trustee – Wrexham Tennis Centre

Trustee – Wrexham Tennis Centre

Wrexham Tennis Centre (WTC) is the largest indoor tennis facility in Wales, and one of the largest in Great Britain. With 12 indoor and outdoor tennis courts, our charity provides tennis opportunities for individuals across North Wales and beyond. Excitingly, we are soon opening 3 brand new Padel courts, the first facility to do so in North Wales.

This is an exciting time to join the Trustee Board at Wrexham Tennis Centre. We have been the proud recipients of over £2 million of government funding, allowing us to upgrade our facility, and in turn, improve our offering to the local community.

As a registered charity, we exist to:

Promote community participation in healthy recreation, and Advance the physical education of young people, and others, within our community.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to support our experienced board of trustees. In particular, we are keen to recruit individuals with experience in: digital marketing and social media, fundraising or human resources.

About the trustee role:

Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that Wrexham Tennis Centre achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity, and ensure that Wrexham Tennis Centre has a clear strategy. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the
executive team to enable Wrexham Tennis Centre to grow and thrive, and through this, support our customers and users as best as we can.
Board members have a collective responsibility. This means that trustees always act as a group and not as individuals.

WTC’s interests, to the exclusion of your own personal and/or any third party interests
● Contribute to the broader promotion of WTC’s objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts

As a small charity, there will be times when the trustees will need to be actively involved beyond board meetings. This may involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, presenting externally, or other issues in which you may have special expertise.
