WSA members Snowsports Cymru are delighted that two Welsh ParaSnowsport Athletes have been selected to represent Team GB at the Paralympics in Korea in March 2018.
Cardif based Menna Fitzpatrick is a visually impaired skier (has 5% vision) and skis with her guide Jennifer Kehoe in all alpine skiing discipline including Downhill racing where they reach up to 60mph. Menna is aged 19 and is a good prospect for a medal at the games having been the first British skier to win the overall World Cup in 2016.
Chris Lloyd, 42, skis in speed disciplines and comes from Ynysybwl. Chris was injured in a rally driving accident 5 years ago, and was told on waking up in hospital that he may never walk again – let alone ski. Chris was inspired to take up ski racing as part of his rehabilitation having watched the London Games from his hospital bed.
