WSA CEO Victoria Ward to take up new post.

Victoria Ward, CEO is set to leave the Welsh Sports Association to start a new role as CEO Welsh Gymnastics.

Of her time at the WSA Victoria said “I am proud to have played a part in the growth of the WSA for more than 7 years. Having the opportunity to build a brilliant executive team, to benefit from the wise counsel of a highly skilled board and to work with, and represent, our extensive portfolio of members, has been a real privilege.  As we emerge from the pandemic, now feels like a good time to handover the baton to a new leader, as I take up the role of CEO of Welsh Gymnastics.”  

During her tenure at the WSA, Victoria has led on significant growth in membership, has been responsible for significant deals with commercial partners, has supported the sector in improving its governance and has led the sector’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

Chair of the WSA Board Lynn Pamment said “Vicky’s contribution to the success of the WSA and to the sports sector in Wales has been immense.  Her leadership has meant that the WSA has matured in the way in which it supports is members through advocacy, services and governance.  She will be a hard act to follow.  We wish Vicky all the very best in her new role at Welsh Gymnastics and look forward to continuing to work with her as a member of the WSA.”

Victoria will commence her new role in July 2022.  The recruitment process for Victoria’s successor will commence shortly.
