Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week 2022

Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week 2022

Previously known as Parents in Sport Week, the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) are in 2022 launching the Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week for he first time.

The campaign will run year-round but will have an annual focused awareness week from the 3rd to the 9th of October, where parents, sports clubs and bodies, and NSPCC ambassadors will be brought together to help parents to keep children safe in sport.

The whole campaign has a fresh look this year! Its aim is to better reflect the CPSU’s mission to continually support and inform parents and carers about the role they can play in keeping their children safe in sports and activity settings.

There will be new resources and other useful information launched for the public throughout the year, across the CPSU and NSPCC websites. To be able to find out what’s new when things first come out, be sure to give the CPSU and the NSPCC a follow on Twitter!

There are plenty if ways you can get involved and promote the importance of this campaign championing a necessary duty for each organisation – from spreading the word to fellow parents and friends using the campaign’s #SafeinSport hashtag, to letting parents of children in your sports club know about the CPSU’s e-learning course, there’s a lot you can do!

Check out the CPSU website to find out more and find a bank of resources that can support you!

The Welsh Sports Association also offers a wealth of resources and services to support organisations in their safeguarding duties. You can find these on our dedicated safeguarding hub, where you’ll be able to learn more about our popular DBS checking service.
